Aer Lingus expands Birmingham, Cork route

Private Equity Fund Of Funds Birmingham International Airport and Aer Lingus has celebrated the launch of a new thrice weekly service to Cork in Southern Ireland.

Investors interested in buying a company in the airline sector have been alerted today following the news that Ireland's government has agreed to sell its stake in Aer Lingus. The government confirmed it was, in principal, seeking to sell its majority holding in the national carrier to fund future expansion. Martin Cullen, transport minister, said the government would hold on to a small stake but was keen to sell it off.
