Conversent Communications Adds Multi-T1 Dedicated Internet Access to Offerings
Innovative Product Provides Greater Flexibility for Growing Businesses
MARLBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 21, 2004--Conversent Communications, an integrated communications provider (ICP), today announced the addition of a new product, Multi-T1 Dedicated Internet Access, to the broad portfolio of voice, Internet, and data solutions it currently offers business customers.
Multi T1 provides customers with more bandwidth than a standard T1, making it particularly important to businesses that have a high demand for Internet bandwidth and highly reliable connectivity but are not ready to upgrade to a T3. The service, which comes in configurations from 3 Mbps to 9 Mbps, is ideal for larger small to medium-sized businesses as well as high growth, technology, information and Internet driven companies.
"Multi T1s are a great addition to our extensive line of innovative products and services," said Robert Shanahan, president and CEO of Conversent Communications. "The Multi-T1 meets the unique needs of technology-driven companies and growing businesses. Our customers will undoubtedly find great value in this product because it provides many additional benefits without the expense or excessive bandwidth that a T3 can generate."
Customer benefits of Conversent's Multi-T1 service include a permanent, dedicated high-speed Internet connection as well as 24x7 proactive monitoring and technical support.
Conversent currently provides services to more than 38,000 business customers and employs 595 sales, technical and support staff in 22 offices from Maine to New Jersey. The company's expansive network includes six Class 5 telephone switches and 80 Data switches and more than 2000 miles of fiber optic network.
Since 1998, Conversent has raised more than $230 million in private equity and debt financing, and in January 2003 the company achieved profitability, a first in the CLEC industry.
