Equity Income Funds Robert Milton was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada in August 1999, following his appointment as President in May of the same year. In March 1996, he was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the safe and profitable management of the airline`s worldwide operations. Mr. Milton initially joined Air Canada in May 1992 on a consulting basis to assist in the rationalization of the airline`s courier network. Subsequently, his assignments included improving the airline`s scheduling process, developing synergies in marketing alliances with the airline`s partners and assisting in the acquisition of an equity stake in Continental Airlines. Mr. Milton was named Senior Director, Scheduling in April 1993. In March 1995, he was appointed Senior Vice President, Marketing and In-Flight Service, with additional responsibilities for Advertising, Product Design and Brand Management, In-Flight Service and Cargo operations. In 1991, prior to joining Air Canada, Mr. Milton was a founding partner of an aviation-related consulting services firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. From 1983-1988, Mr. Milton founded and was President and CEO of an air carrier that provided overnight package service. In 1988, he sold the company`s operations to a commuter division of a major U.S. passenger airline. Mr. Milton graduated in 1983 from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. In 1999, he received the Maclean`s Magazine "Canada`s Top 40 Under 40" award honouring exceptional vision, leadership and innovation among Canadian executives under the age of forty.
