Ubisoft Opens New Studio In Quebec

Private Equity Fund Of Funds Earlier today, the French owned mega-publisher Ubisoft announced the creation of a new studio to be stationed in Quebec City. The new development house is set to open its doors for around 200 potential employees which include designers, animators and programmers.

Martin Tremblay, President and COO of Ubisoft's Montreal studios explained the reasons behind the new team. "Our expected growth in the five coming years will now come from both Montreal, as announced last February, and Quebec City. Quebec City is a recognized creative hub and well-known for its academic institutions both at the university and college level. Ubisoft intends to play a key role in the development of the local industry and be a major contributor to Quebec City's international renown.

In order to make sure that the new start-up development team has a good foundation, Ubisoft intends to invest over 75 million canadian dollars in the next five years to provide ample support and funding for the studio.
