Wireless Frontier Internet Announces Approval of Real County Community Network Project
FORT STOCKTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2004--Wireless Frontier Internet Inc. (Pink Sheets:WFRI), an industry-leading provider of wireless broadband Internet access for rural-based home and business consumers, confirmed today the approval to build the Real County Community Network. This project expands broadband wireless into Real County, Leaky, Camp Wood and Garner State Park.
The Real County Community Network expands the Company's regional coverage area into the expansive Texas hill country. "Real County is a perfect example of how our business model works. No high speed Internet access existed in the area and there was only one dial up provider available. Our goal is to partner with the dial up ISP's in rural markets and expand our broadband wireless footprint throughout the region. Real County is experiencing a rapid growth in population due to its close proximity to San Antonio, so it's a win-win situation, not only for the Company and the Community Network, but for the several contiguous areas as well," stated Wireless Chairman and CEO Alex Gonzalez.
The Real County Community Network was originally established with Texas Telecommunications Infra-structure Fund (TIF) grants. "Initial reaction and demand for broadband has been extremely high. Bringing broadband Internet into rural communities such as Real County has proven to be one of the attractions to potential residents from the metro areas. People can experience Rural America without compromising the cutting-edge, urban technology they are accustomed to," further remarked Alex Gonzalez, CEO for Wireless Frontier. He also commented, "This part of Texas has never had broadband services and Wireless Frontier is fulfilling the goal of the State to provide broadband services throughout Rural America with the use of the TIF grants."
Founded in 1998, Wireless Frontier Internet is a leader in wireless broadband deployment. The Company currently services over 130 cities in Texas and is expanding nationally on an acquisition growth model.
