sampling. Sampling is perceived as not creative, when really
sampling is a way of thinking about previous contributions of
music. It is a less individualistic way of thinking about the world
than we are used to, and in essence deals with personal style and
how it fits into greater society."

Werner, who holds a Ph.D. in American and English literature from
the University of Illinois, currently holds positions on the

Fame.
