Curve Equity Exposed Fund The letters to the editor about Sam Petersen's comic strip in
the past edition of Chips baffled me. Contrary to what Professor
Guy Nave believes, that "the issue is not about "political
correctness." Mr. Nave is incorrect, because that is exactly what
this is whole issue with racism concerning Chips staff member, Sam
Petersen, and his comic is all about. This campus lives and
breathes political correctness.

Equity Income Funds Does anyone on the Luther College campus honestly believe that
Chips would devote two full pages out of their Homecoming issue to
letters to the editor that were accusing a staff member or student
of intolerance towards a person with
Christian fundamentalist views
rather than the subject of racial insensitivity? I am sorry, but
that just would not happen.
Viridian, the holding company for Northern Ireland's electricity, is in talks over a .62billion bid by Bahraini private equity firm Arcapita Bank.
Capital Casebook Equity Another letter written by Krissy Haltinner, in response to one
of the black comic book character's addressing another black
character as "brother" is just plain over the top. Ms. Haltinner
claims, "This sort of address indicates to me a belief in the right
of the white student to enter the social world of the African
American student." She goes on to explain her disgust with white
people calling black people and other white people "brother" at
various bars. Well many on this campus may like to restrict or even
end free speech, but hopefully they will just leave their crusade
to the campus of Luther College instead of the surrounding
community and its drinking
establishments.

Private Investment In Public Students and faculty also decided to make suggestions and
demands upon the Luther Chips staff in their letters. Ms. Danai
Mupotsa wrote a letter to the editor where she said, "An admission
of responsibility and apology to all those offended, across race,
class, gender, sexuality and religious boundaries is requested."
Well Ms. Mupotsa, I am one of the hundreds of students on this
campus who do NOT request an apology from Mr. Petersen or the
Luther Chips staff.

Equity Mutual Funds In fact, the only apology deserved here is to Mr. Petersen by
Mr. Nave for accusing him of "thinking that all black men are
"niggers." That sort of rhetoric is unbecoming itself and an
accusation of its sort warrants apology. The assault on free speech
and free thought on this campus has gone on long enough and I am
sick and tired of a few people trying to tell me how I have to
think and what I can say.
Birmingham Contact Equity Whether these individuals are students or members of the staff,
I find that this sort of behavior flies right in the face of what
the college experience should be about. I hope that college life
will return to what it is supposed to be about : the fluid exchange
of
ideas between people without
constant concern for what they say.
Private Equity Investment Firm But, if this mini-escapade regarding a comic strip, of all
things, is taken so out of proportion, then who knows if Luther
College can ever become the type of institution that it is supposed
to be again?
